See how LA County used innovative solutions to serve a large community with a complex network
LA county has connected to two Health Information Exchange networks (HIEs)––the Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services and Carequality by Netsmart––to make data and information widely accessible among shared providers. This example of interoperability allows for the exchange of health records both within and outside of LA County’s large system.
3,144,580 transactions across the Netsmart CareConnect Network by LA CountyLA County's myAvatar platform powers the billing and claims adjudication process between the county's contract providers and the state.
E-prescribing and medication management tools are integrated with the EHR, allowing providers to prescribe, review, and order tests electronically. OrderConnect(TM) - assists with Electronic prescribing (e-prescribing) of controlled substances (EPCS) per California law, in compliance with Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs) such as California CURES.
As new data collection requirements are released, such as sexual orientation and gender identity, updates can be made that ultimately benefit all California counties.
